Purdue University Calumet and Seelio
We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with Purdue University Calumet! Starting this fall, students at Purdue Calumet will be using Seelio in experiential learning courses to showcase their academic accomplishments and demonstrate their hands-on learning.
“Students who develop an online portfolio can distinguish themselves by capturing evidence of their successful learning,” said Peggy Gerard, Purdue Calumet vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost. “Within a competitive job market, students can use such a portfolio effectively during an interview to show employers in an easy to access manner real examples of their educational achievements and application.”
Over the next four years we hope to introduce Seelio to students in additional courses and work with faculty to map students’ learning experiences against learning objectives to demonstrate how Purdue Calumet is preparing students to be successful. We’ll also provide training, guidance, and support all along the way so students and faculty can make the most out of portfolios on campus.
“The ability to align course assignments with student learning outcomes and obtain exemplars of student work will improve assessment of our programs and of student learning,” Gerard said. “The integration of Seelio with Blackboard courses makes tracking of outcomes much easier.”
We know how important it is to prepare students for success. That’s why we’re excited to partner with Purdue Calumet so students across campus can prepare for their careers from day one and graduate with the ability to present and showcase their important experiential learning.
