Seelio in its earliest form started more than a year ago as a platform called truApp. It was the vision of Moses Lee, Jerry Wang, and David Jsa, who were inspired by Portfolio Day at Scarlett Middle School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. truApp was born with the belief that college students should be able to showcase themselves — their work, their passions, their goals — to employers more vividly than the traditional resume allows for. The site was originally tested among University of Michigan students with great success. On August 5, 2012, truApp will shut down, and Seelio will rise to take its place the next day. With the new release, we decided to change the name to something that gets at the essence of our company a bit better — Seelio. See my portfolio. Seelio (cool, eh?).

To match our new name, the old truApp blog is migrating to the page you’re on right now — welcome to the new blog! This blog will keep you updated on the same topics as the truApp blog.

Many of you may be reading this post after switching over from truApp, and we thank you for sticking with us throughout this incredibly rewarding growth process! In order to clear up any confusion, here are some frequently asked questions about the changes in the platform:

Q: What’s going to happen to my truApp profile?

A: There’s no need to worry! Everything from your truApp profile migrate to your new Seelio account without you having to do a single thing (phew!).

Q: What’s so new about Seelio?

A: So many awesome things. Nothing beats experiencing these new features first-hand, but to tide you over until August 6, here’s a brief summary of what to look forward to on Seelio:

  • Super-awesome layout
  • Facebook & twitter integration
  • Tag collaborators on works
  • Highlight works
  • Increased organization capabilities

Q: Where should I go if I want to learn more about how Seelio works?

A: You will be walked through the process of building your Seelio when you create an account. Make sure you frequent this blog because we’ll be posting detailed explanations about new features as they’re added to the site!

Q: What can I do if I want to get more involved in helping spread the Seelio message?

A: Great! We’re always interested in finding more student ambassadors (stay tuned for a blog post on these in the next few days), but if you are interested in talking about other ways to get involved feel free to email founders@seelio.com with your name, college, and why you would love to represent Seelio on your campus.

Q: Who should I talk to if I have something to say about Seelio?

A: You can email us any testimony, comments, or concerns at founders@seelio.com.

Don’t forget: bring your resume to life by linking your Seelio to your resume as soon as the site launches on August 6, 2012!
